NewNewNew Noise

A fresh look for the New Noise night. Keeping much the same theme but hopefully catching eyes again.

"MINT"

I instigated the making of this zine called "MINT'. It's got photo's drawing and writing from folks around cork. 47 of them I think was the final tally. Black and white except for some green marker on the front.

Thanks to everyone who gave me stuff to put in, also Darragh in the quad and Solidarity books.

KVX and Cities

A New Noise gig in Cork. Two young bands playing so I wanted to keep it fun but with the colour scheme and type I'd been using for the previous posters.

I was pretty worn out from New Year when I made this. I think the vacant stare in the characters eyes are reflecting my head in early 2010.

For Outonalimb Records christmas concert in Dublin. Each member of all the bands made a couple of covers for a sampler cd. Limbs seemed appropriate.

I took the photo of a photo of the skull in the Catalan museum in Barcelona.

The Guesthouse

The Guest House project space is a Cork Artist Collective initiative.

It hosts open practice activities, within the context of a domestic setting. These include workshops, seminars, food events, reading groups, residencies, exhibitions, meetings, installations etc..

I made this poster using some brilliant photographs of Wayne/Persons taken on some vintage/toy cameras on a trip he did around Europe.

I had the honor to perform for this lunch-time event with Persons.

Infernal Method

A Drone/Black Metal/Experimental DJ night in Cork.

I took the photo of some trees reflected on a river. It reminded me of the rorschach blot type face paint of many black metal bands.

The Couch Gallery

Dom and Allanah at the Couch Gallery in Cork asked me to give them some of my old copy books for an exhibition they're running for the month.

Superheros such as 'Baby Spiderman' and 'Bad Santy' along with powerful misspelling such as ausum(awesome) and the like.

ZAUM

This poster will be a work in progress as the event itself evolves.

I wanted to hand render everything and have lots of white space firstly to make it stand out from most of the poster I see around lately, also ZAUM is meant to be an event that is open and personal.

There's also a version with the characters second nose on full display.

I was really late doing this poster so It needed to be blatantly in your face. I had fun with layering stuff. Couldn't afford gold leaf though. Ah well.

New "New Noise"

This is the new New Noise poster. This time round we wanted to have something more active looking as the type of music at the club became more settled in. I kept the megenta as the New Noise signature. There is also a film-like feel to the layering of images as movies are projected in the club also.

New Years Eve '08

My first fully adobe illustrator drawing job. I call it "Space monkey and the Psychedelic Snowflake".

This is a tour poster I made for an Italian and Irish band for their trip around Ireland. It was all hand rendered even coloured paper was used. This one was rushed and I'd like to return to do something like this with a bit more time on my hands.

David Duff Poster

This a poster I did for comedic songsmith David Duff for his Irish tour. I took the photo on a dull day near a burnt out car we came upon by accident.

New Noise

Here is a logo I made for an alternative night in Cork City called New Noise. I made posters and flyers for the club as well but they are Pretty straight forward.

Ghouls Night Out Quad '08

These posters were designed by splitting an A1+ drawing by a friend of mine Johnny "Stone Circle" O'Leary. It was a task to try and get as much of the image I could and get all the text in. The beginning of good things to come I hope.

Beatlesons Posters

I made 4 versions of this poster with the varying information for each city. I got the photo from the band.




This other poster was also used. "Live Tonight" or "Starts at 10" etc were written with marker on the posters.

Candy Skull Poster

I made this poster a while ago for an acoustic gig in cork. I wanted it to be as far from what you would expect for a singer songwriter poster as possible but at the same time not be in the style seen for another genres all the time either.
